CONTEST RULES AND REGULATIONS
This contest is being conducted by the Halifax Port Authority ("The Sponsor”). The
contest begins on August 5, at midnight. A series of draws will take place and the
date of the draw will be specified once you enter your promotion code.
HOW TO ENTER:
You can enter the contest by obtaining an entry code that appears in any of the
following:
- The Coast Best of Halifax City Guide
- Atlantic Film Festival Program
- Halifax Seaport Beerfest Program
You can enter the code at the specially designated page on the Sponsor’s website,
at http://halifaxseaport.com/contestentry/contest.aspx
All entrants must be over the age of 12, and must be residents of the province of
Nova Scotia. Employees, directors, contractors of the Sponsor or of any of the organizers/publishers
of the entry codes are not eligible to enter.
All information obtained for this contest will be used only for the purposes of
conducting the contest. In particular, Personal information collected from entrants
will be used by the Halifax Port Authority for the purpose of administering this
contest and is subject to the Privacy Act (Canada). Entrants will be given the opportunity
to “opt in” to receive information relating to new and existing products and upcoming
promotions of the Halifax Seaport by e-mail. The Halifax Port Authority will not
sell, share or otherwise disclose personal information of entrants with third parties,
other than to third parties engaged by them to fulfil the above purposes or as permitted
or required by law.
Entrants must correctly answer a skill-testing question in order to be eligible
to win.
PRIZES:
There will be 1 prize, per promotion code each of which is a $20.00 gift card for
use at the Halifax Seaport. After you fill in the promotion code the value, location
of the gift card and the date of the draw will be indicated.
The Sponsor reserves the right at its sole option, and for any reason, to substitute
the prize (or any part of the prize) with another prize of equal or greater value.
Prize must be accepted as awarded, and no cash value will be given for the prize.
In the event the winner is unable to accept the prize or if the prize is not claimed
or if Sponsor’s release forms are not received by the Sponsor 30 days after they
have been sent to the winner, that person will forfeit the prize in its entirety
and another winner will be selected.
Odds of winning depend on the total number of entries received.
DRAW:
A random draw will be made by a representative of The Sponsor in Halifax from all
eligible online entries received by the relevant contest closing date.
The winner will be notified by email. In the event that the selected entrant cannot
be contacted, after two (2) attempts within 7 (seven) days of prize notification
sent by email, the Sponsor reserves the right to randomly select another entrant
from the eligible entries received.
In order to win, the selected entrant will be required to correctly answer a time
limited, skill-testing question to be administered online or by telephone, at the
Sponsor’s discretion. The winning entrant will be required to sign a Declaration
and Release, which among other things, releases The Sponsor from all liability.
If the selected entrant is under the age of majority, his/her parent or legal guardian
must sign the Declaration and Release documents and accept prize on the selected
entrant's behalf. None of The Sponsor, its directors, employees, agents or representatives
shall bear any liability whatsoever in any way attributed to the prize awarded in
the contest. By accepting the prize, the winner, or the parent or legal guardian
if a minor, agrees to the use of the winner's name, city of residence, photograph
and/or other likeness in any related publicity, including presence on The Sponsor's
website, without further compensation or permission.
GENERAL RULES:
All entries become the property of The Sponsor, which assumes no responsibility
for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer
online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure
of any e-mail or entry to be received by Sponsors on account of technical problems
or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof
including any injury or damage to an entrant's or any other person's computer related
to or resulting from playing or downloading any material in the promotion.
Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion to cancel or suspend this contest
should a virus, bug or other cause beyond the reasonable control of Sponsor corrupt
the security or proper administration of the contest. Any attempt to deliberately
damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is
a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, Sponsors
reserve the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by
law, including criminal prosecution. Entries are subject to verification and will
be declared invalid if they are illegible, mechanically reproduced, mutilated, forged,
falsified, altered or tampered with in any way.
By entering, contestants agree to abide by the contest rules and decisions of the
contest judging organization, which shall be final.
