Discover the wide range of newcomers’ experiences on their first day of arrival in Canada spanning from confederation to present day. To celebrate Canada’s 150th, our curators and exhibition teams have created a very special version of this travelling exhibit, supported by RBC Foundation, that is larger, features eight distinctive artworks and includes compelling objects such as a Syrian Welcome kit, a Head tax certificate, moving War Bride correspondence and more.
Cost: Included with Museum Admission
Celebrate our country’s 150th anniversary with the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 – home to a world of stories honouring the immigrants who helped shape the Canada we know today. From welcoming home the Museum’s Canada: Day 1 exhibit, to hands-on workshops and lively performances, join us for special Canada 150 events and programs at Pier 21 throughout 2017.
In addition to the Museum’s programming, we will also host a variety of partner events. Check back regularly to see how you can celebrate Canada 150 at Pier 21.
