Bagages opens the stage and turns the spotlight on newly arrived teen immigrants studying at Paul-Gérin-Lajoie-d’Outremont High School in Montréal. The film follows the students as they find voice for their individual stories with the help of drama workshops, theatre productions and deeply personal interviews.
Paul Tom, the director, will introduce the screening and lead a Q&A. Paul is the director of seven films and is an editor, trainer and museum exhibit designer. He was born to Cambodian refugees in a Thai refugee camp.
This screening is part of the Museum’s Diversity Spotlight Film Series.
