Heritage Park Historical Village in Calgary has the oldest colonist train car in Canada and has produced a play and an exhibit to celebrate Canada’s Sesquicentennial. The play and exhibit share the stories of people and their colonist car journeys from dockside to their new homes across Canada. Until the 1960s, these special train cars populated the country, facilitated war efforts and helped unite Canadians in peace time. This special event begins its nation-wide tour at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21.
