The Day of the Dead (in Spanish: Día de los Muertos) is a Mexican holiday that pays tribute to friends and family members who have passed away. The holiday incorporates celebrations, altars, special foods, music and dates back hundreds of years to an ancient Aztec festival. Today. Día de los Muertos is celebrated throughout Mexico as well as by people of Mexican ancestry living throughout the world. Families are invited to join us at the Museum to learn more about Día de los Muertos and celebrate with us through hands-on activities, food, presentations and a screening of Disney Pixar’s Coco.
