Halifax Black Film Festival Screenings

Presented by TD in collaboration with Global News, the Halifax Black Film Festival celebrates African Heritage Month. This festival is dedicated to giving unique voices in cinema the opportunity to present audiences with new ways of looking at the world. Join us at the Museum for screenings of films:

1:00 p.m. – Mariannes Noiresa documentary by Kaytie Nielsen, Mame-Fatou Niang tells the story seven different French-born women of African descent, as they confront their own unique identities and challenge the expectations of French society. Presented in French.

3:00 p.m. – Screening of eight short films, Amerika; Hustle and Heart; I Love You More; Thug; East Side till the Grave; Our Canada, My Story, Ali Dual; Whitewash and Yesterday in Yassan. Presented in English.
