When Mayann Francis was named Nova Scotia’s first Black lieutenant governor in 2006, she wondered if the community would accept her. In her candid and encouraging new memoir, An Honourable Life, Dr. Francis describes the twists and turns of her journey from humble beginnings in Whitney Pier, the daughter of immigrants, to the vice-regal office. The Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 welcomes Dr. Francis to discuss her unique journey and read from her new book, followed by a reception and book signing.
In Conversation with Dr. Mayann Francis is presented in partnership with Nimbus Publishing.
