
CBSA celebrates International Customs Day at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21.
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will celebrate International Customs Day and Canada 150 on Thursday, January 26 with free activities at the Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 in Halifax.
Activities will include:
- opening remarks by CBSA Atlantic Regional Director General Calvin Christiansen at 10:30 a.m.
- a tour of the museum’s customs area at 10:45 a.m.
- demonstrations of marine detection technology, a detector dog demonstration with a drug and firearms detection team, and a CBSA truck showcasing mobile technology at 11:00 a.m.
- a CBSA recruitment booth from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m.
The event is open to the public and media are invited to attend.
January 26 is International Customs Day. The World Customs Organization established the day to recognize the role of custom officials and agencies around the world in maintaining border security.
