Artist for a Day takes place on Saturday, May 7 from 10 am to 4 pm at NSCAD University’s Port Campus, 1107 Marginal Road, Halifax. There will also be activities at the Nova Scotia Centre for Craft and Design (1061 Marginal Rd.), the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 (1055 Marginal Rd.) and the Artists Annex, across the street from NSCAD.
Artist for a Day puts the emphasis on hands on. Participants actually make art, and in some cases, take it home! The event is suitable for all ages and abilities.

– Creation of a “living mural”
– Sandwich artists
– Life drawing
– Jewellery Making for Mothers Day
– Electronics repurposing – computer critters
– Linocut printing
– Gyotaku: Japanese Fish Printing
– Pixelated Self Portrait
– Dada Collage Making
Plus, the community percussion group Samba Nova will be by around 12 noon to get people moving!
