Opening Gala: Emerging Lens Film Festival

For the second time Pier 21 will host the Emerging Lens Film Festival’s opening night celebration. The opening program will feature two unique films from the African Canadian community: Jean of the Joneses (82 minutes), a family dramedy from Toronto-born writer/director Stella Meghie, and Hustle and Heart (10 minutes), a dramatic short filmed in Halifax. The film was directed by local actress/director Koumbie and written by Halifax-based writer/actor Taylor Olson.
