Carmen Aguirre, author of Something Fierce: Memoirs of a Revolutionary Daughter came to Canada with her parents who were exiled by the Pinochet regime. Carmen spent much of her teenage years fighting in the Chilean resistance before going on to become a renowned author, playwright and actor. On Sunday, May 27 at 7:00 p.m. Carmen will talk about her experience writing Something Fierce and read excerpts. A Q&A and book signing will follow the event.

From 6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., participants are invited to visit the exhibition Refuge Canada as preparation for Carmen’s talk. Carmen’s own story of arrival can be found in the exhibition.
